In 2016 the M.D. of Wainwright had a population of 4,479 living in 1,459 of its 1,768 total private dwellings, a change of 8.2% from its 2011 population of 4,138. With a land area of 4,156.56 km2 (1,604.86 sq mi), it had a population density of 1.1/km2 (2.8/sq mi) in 2016.

RFP – Fire Pumper Emergency Response Unit

The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 (the “MD”) is seeking proposals in response to this RFP in relation to:  Supply of a Fire Pumper Emergency Response Unit.  Proposals will be received by:

 Time and date for the closing of the RFP is:

11:00 a.m. MST on Friday, March 1st, 2021

(the “RFP Closing Date”)

  1. The proposal package can be obtained by contacting the M.D. of Wainwright office at 780-842-4454.
  2. Proposals cannot be withdrawn and must be irrevocable for a period of forty-five (45) days after the RFP Closing Date in order to allow for the MD to evaluate the various proposals and to undertake the negotiations, if it so desires, with the selected proponents.
  3. The MD reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and to waive irregularities and informalities at its discretion.
  4. All written inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the Request for Proposals shall be directed to Steve Douglas, Fire Chief or emailed in the form of an attachment on letterhead to sdouglas@wainwright.ca, however, each proponent acknowledges and agrees that the MD does not have an obligation to provide a response to any written inquiry.
  5. If the MD, in its sole and unfettered discretion, determines that a written response to an inquiry is warranted, a written response will be prepared and distributed to all proponents who have requested a copy of the Request for Proposals and completed the acknowledgment form. Such written response(s) will be issued in the form of an addendum to the Request for Proposals and will be deemed to be part of the Request for Proposals.

Contract Equipment Opportunity

The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 invites prices for contract equipment opportunities for the 2021 season.  Equipment requirements include excavators, crawler tractors, packers, water and oil hauling trucks, motor scrapers, LGP crawler tractor, tandem axle dump truck and semi-tractor with tri-axle end dump.  Contractors hired will be responsible for operator, fuel, oil, transportation, and servicing of the equipment.  Equipment will be required on a project specific or as needed basis.  Rates will only be paid when equipment is operating.  Those interested are invited to obtain a price submission package at the contact information below.

The M.D. of Wainwright reserves the right to waive informalities in, or reject any or all prices, or accept the price deemed most favorable in the interest of the M.D.  The lowest or any price may not necessarily be accepted.

Sealed submissions marked “Contract Equipment Opportunity” will be accepted until 10:00 a.m. March 4, 2021 at the address indicated below. All prices are to be submitted on the schedules provided.

Fencing Opportunity

The Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 invites prices for fencing opportunities for the 2021 season and the option year of 2022.  The prices will be based on a per mile rate with the M.D. supplying all materials.  Contractors will be required on a project specific or as needed basis.  Those interested are invited to obtain a price submission package at the contact information below.

The M.D. of Wainwright reserves the right to waive informalities in, or reject any or all prices, or accept the price deemed most favorable in the interest of the M.D.  The lowest or any price may not necessarily be accepted.
